Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
My painting has afforded me many hours of joy, relaxation and a feeling of accomplishment, especially when I see the emotions on the faces of people for whom I have done special commissions.
I very much enjoy painting sky, flowers, trees, and landscapes of a more “general” nature. However, my greatest pleasure comes from transforming a photo of someone's special place, event, or loved one, and creating a one-of-a-kind "keepsake on canvas" for them. That connection and context brings a smile to my heart!
Do you have a special event coming up? A daughter's or son's wedding? A new baby or a parent's birthday? A cherished pet? An old (or not-so-old) photograph whose content is such that you always thought it would make a wonderful original painting - with some "tweaking"?
Paintings make a unique, beautiful and lasting gift.
If there's a special photo that brings a warm memory to you every time you see it, but it's just not the "quality" that you would like for enlarging and hanging on a wall, please email it to me. I would be happy to have an opportunity to quote you a price.
Most of the paintings in this website have been done on gallery-wrapped canvas, so framing is unnecessary - at least in the short term. (The canvas is stretched around the sides of a frame so that the painting is continued around all sides.) They're ready to hang as they are. This gives you time to live with your painting, and decide if and when you want it framed. Let me know what size you think would be best for you.
A new feature that I've added is to give you the ability to order any of my paintings as a print or an all-occasion greeting card. After you've viewed my work here, you can visit my store at http://ruthdriedger.imagekind.com , and be assured that you will receive excellent service and a beautiful print. This is the same place from which I've been ordering prints. For more information, please see "PRINTS FOR SALE" at the top left of this page, or send me a note and I'll be happy to talk with you!
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings, and maybe even get a little "inspired" to think about what YOU would enjoy seeing on your walls!
And, like the sunflower above, hopefully we'll all just keep "unfolding".
